Elula Naturals began as a hobby of gifting my friends and other loved ones with something handmade. On top of that came the urgency to ensure that my husband used chemical-free products plus a newly empty nest.

2018 was a turning point in my life when we as a family were dealing with a recent health scare as well as adjusting to our son (an only child) starting grade 8 and going off to boarding school.  A friend visiting from abroad inspired me to use the newly available spare time I had to share my love for natural, handmade products with others.

We started with crochet cotton face cloths and soap bars and each time I was approached for a new product or one that was needed in our home, it was an opportunity to research and formulate a product that both smells wonderful and feels good to use.

Now, my family and friends are constantly being called upon to test a cream, balm, or soap as we formulate something new to add to our range.  It has been a wonderful journey so far, with our product range growing steadily. It now includes gifts and a product range for men.

We use reusable glass and minimal biodegradable packaging to lessen our carbon footprint.

We are passionate about supporting local suppliers and sourcing the finest ingredients for our products. For instance, our honey and beeswax come from ethically harvested, sustainably managed hives on a farm in Umfolozi, as well as a family member’s farm in Gingindlovu.  Our essential oils are 100% pure and locally grown on a farm in Eston, both situated locally in KZN, ensuring the purest ingredients are used in our products.

Our products are biodegradable, non-toxic and suitable for all skin types. Everything we make is 100% natural and does not contain artificial fragrances, parabens, petrochemicals or endocrine-disrupting substances.
